Ryan Davenport is director of transportation, athletic director, head softball coach and head middle school boys basketball coach for the Russellville Independent Schools.

I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude after being ordained as a Deacon today at Second Baptist Church. I am so thankful for every person who shared this special day with me.

These young men who came out to support me have no idea what it meant to me.

To see them there, taking time out of their day, showing up, and encouraging me truly touched my heart.

Seeing their faces in the congregation was a humbling reminder of the responsibility I now carry and the community I am privileged to serve. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your love, respect, and encouragement. You motivated me more than you can ever know.

Please keep me in your prayers as I begin this new role.

Shown with Coach Davenport are Issiah Browder, Tyrrese Browder, (his son) Mason Davenport, Carsen Farmer and Darius Browder.
