Local history opportunities abound

The PastFinders will be meeting this Friday, Oct. 9, 6:30 p.m.  Robertson County historian Rick Gregory will speak on the Night Riders and the Tobacco Wars. It was the most violent period in this region after the Civil War.

 I will also be portraying Tom Rhea at the Cemetery Tours again today (Thursday).  You can call the chamber of commerce to reserve a tour.at (270) 726-2206.

Oct. 17, 3 p.m. the Girl in the Window musical will be presented at Logan County High School Performance Arts Center. Admission is free, but donations will be appreciated. This will be presented as a staged reading.  That means there will not be sets or even costumes.  

Next month will be two PastFinders meeting will be held.      

On Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. Gary Violett will talk about Anthony New, a  Todd County pioneer.

On Nov. 27, at 6:30 p.m., Dale “Gray Beard” Sanders, the 91-year old Lickskillet native, will talk about his world-record breaking trek across the Appalachian Trail.
