Emilie Gill, an art history and visual studies double major from Allensville, will be recognized as the WKU Ogden Foundation Scholar during the Potter College of Arts & Letters commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 15.

WKU’s top undergraduate academic award—the equivalent of valedictorian--is presented to one graduating baccalaureate degree senior who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and outstanding university and civic engagement.

An accomplished artist, her creations have been on display at the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center this month.

Gill, who is a graduate of Russellville High School, is the daughter of Sylvia and Circuit Judge Tyler Gill of Allensville. She attended Adairville School is the lower grades.

She becomes the second graduate of RHS to be named Ogden Scholar in the past five academic years.

The first was Sarah Fox, who has since earned her masters degree from the University of Birmingham in England and is completing the Yale School of Divinity this year. In fact, she delivered her senior sermon at Marquand Chapel on the Yale Campus Monday.
