Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) has been designated as one of the “Best Places to Work in Kentucky” by The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM).

One-hundred companies across the state made the 16th Annual Best Places to Work in Kentucky. The winner rankings will be announced at an awards dinner Thursday, April 23, at Heritage Hall in the Lexington Convention Center. The selection process is based on an assessment of the company’s employee policies and procedures and the results of an internal employee survey.

SKYCTC is one of only two colleges or universities in the state to receive the honor. The other is Elizabethtown Community College. None of the state universities or private colleges are on the list.

The only honorees with offices in Logan County are Edward Jones and Farm Credit Mid-America.

“Receiving this honor is a tribute to employee excellence, and their commitment to serving our students, communities, and institution. I’m very proud of our team, who are the foundation of the ‘culture of caring’ we have built at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College,” states Dr. Phillip Neal, SKYCTC President and CEO.

“We work diligently to find the right employees who understand and exemplify the vision and mission of SKYCTC,” says Sherri Forester, Vice President of Administrative Services at SKYCTC. “I am incredibly proud of our employees and how they embody the culture of caring we strive to achieve at SKYCTC.”

The Best Places to Work winners were divided into small, medium and large businesses – 15 to 149 employees, 150 to 499 employees and 500 employees or more, respectively, according to a news release from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

The competition is a multi-year initiative designed to motivate companies in the Commonwealth to focus, measure and move their workplace environments toward excellence. SKYCTC has earned the honor several times in the past.
