LoJo advertisers announce business changes in response to virus

Several of the businesses which advertise on The Logan Journal have announced changes in their operation during the Coronavirus pandemic. The following are among them:

ROY’S Bar-B-Que closed its dining room for the foreseeable future Monday at 5 p.m. Their statement follows:

“WE WILL BE OPEN FOR CALL INS AND CARRY OUTS. We will be doing all we can to make this transition as smooth as possible. Please CALL YOUR ORDER IN!! 270-726-8057 or 270-726-1433. We are asking you to pay for your order over the phone so when you arrive we can get your order completed as quickly as possible. We understood if you’re paying with cash. We will have a huge parking lot that you can park in. (We are trying to figure out a way to have assigned parking.) We will bring your order to your vehicle.

“We have learned that you can come in to the counter, pick up your food and pay. Michelle Morgan will also have the Little Pit open on Franklin Street. Free delivery inside the Russellville city limits on orders of $20 or more, $3 fee if less than $20.”

“In response to the ongoing health concerns surrounding COVID-19, we are rescheduling all March and early April events. Please know that these events have NOT been cancelled. We are evaluating new dates for events impacted and will share those soon.

“Additionally, the Chamber will continue working on your behalf to bring information from our government and health officials during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal is to ensure we provide our partners with information that is accurate, relevant and researched to address the needs and concerns of our partners.

“We are all going through this unprecedented time together and need to rely on each other to be calm, rational and considerate. We encourage you to check on your neighbors and at-risk community members by calling, emailing or communicating with them on social media to understand their needs.

“Logan Telephone is monitoring the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Our priority is the health of our employees, customers, and our community. However, we know the broadband and phone services we provide remain critical for students, businesses, health care, and other applications in the days ahead. We take very seriously the continuity of business operations, so our network is stable and available all the time.

“We will continue to prepare for the impacts of COVID-19, and we will continue to actively review and update our business continuity plan to address the ever-changing nature of this situation. We are considering all options to help maintain operations and provide uninterrupted service to members.

“We are implementing new policies for our staff and our operations to continue to provide service without interruptions to the best of our ability.

“At this time our headquarters customer service center in Auburn will remain open, but we ask that you only visit our customer service center if necessary.

1. The drive-thru is open at our headquarters. Please use if possible rather than entering the building.
2. Our second drive-thru lane contains a drop box for payments. Please use if possible rather than entering the building.

4. Bills can be paid by phone using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or check by calling 1-844-846-2689.

“At this time, we will continue to work troubles, installs, and provide other services at your homes and businesses. Our staff will be asking screening questions for service calls. If customers have travelled overseas, are displaying symptoms, or have been in contact with those possibly infected with the virus, we will reschedule the appointment for a later date. If you have flu like symptoms within two weeks of our technician working at your location, please contact the office so we can take the appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our staff member, employees, and community.

“We are taking other measures based on the advice of the CDC, and other experts, to try and keep our facilities free of the virus and protect our employees and members.

“We will update you if our policies change. We do appreciate your patience during this time. The Cooperative exists to serve the needs of our members and improve your quality of life. We will do our absolute best to meet your needs in the days ahead.

Riley-White Drugs & Healthcare

“With the global outbreak of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), we want to do everything we can to keep our community strong & healthy. This Coronavirus is VERY contagious and we need your help as we make our way through this!

“That said, we strongly encourage everyone to use our drive-thru and to take full advantage of our delivery service until further notice.

“One of the best ways we can prevent this is to limit all unnecessary contact with other people so we don’t spread the disease. Remember- You can be contagious even when you’re not sick or having symptoms of illness!

“Due to the concerns over COVID-19, we are asking that you limit your in-person contact with WRUS. As a listener, you understand that valuable members of our staff fall into the most vulnerable category. “If you come to our studios, you may leave items in the mailbox, at the back of the building, without having to leave your vehicle. We will regularly check the box to retrieve them. We appreciate your consideration during this time.”

“The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky has sent out the following information following Governor Beshear’s statement about public gatherings.

“Funeral homes are encouraged to talk with the families they serve about holding private services with a public memorial service at a later date if they so desire.

“Limiting the attendance to less than 50 people at these services.

“Asking that adults over 60 or those experiencing health problems not to attend.

“Asking that people refrain from hugging, kissing, shaking hands, etc. by using “social distancing” (6 foot perimeter)

“Closing the lounge area and no coffee or food products will be available.”

“We pray for the health and safety of those in our community and our staff as we are in this State of Emergency due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“At the present, we are operating with no disruptions to our services, and we do not have any reports of absences due to Coronavirus. We have implemented preventative control measures including daily use of disinfectant products on all workstations, increasing our supply of hand sanitizer for customer use at workstations, maintaining gloves and face masks at workstations. Most importantly our employees have been told to stay home if they feel ill or if they are running a low-grade fever…”
