In accordance with the directive from the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky applicable to all state office buildings, for the purposes of maintaining social distancing under the CDC guidelines, following the directives from the President of the United States, and in order to promote the health and wellbeing of the general public in reducing the community spread of disease, please be advised of the following that the Logan County Judge Executive has issued an Executive Order, ceasing in-person government services to the public in Logan County Government Offices buildings, with limited exceptions.

County Government provides necessary services to the people and Logan County Government offices will remain open and staffed.  However, these services will be provided by county offices online and over the telephone for all business and personal needs, with very limited exceptions. Office buildings will not be accessible to the general public beginning Wednesday March 18, accessible to staff and employees of Logan County Government only. Please contact the specific office you need to conduct business with for assistance.

Some of the services provided by County government require an in-person visit and each department will develop specific approaches to accommodate individual situations based upon necessities of a specific office.

For example, the Logan County Sheriff will be limiting vehicle inspections to only Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In the Logan County Clerk’s Office, customers needing to effectuate a Vehicle Transfer will need to call 270-726-6621 ext 1 and one of the deputies will make an appointment for buyer and seller only to be in office, with only two appointments at any one time.

The Record Room: Customers wishing to utilize the record room need to call 270-726-6621 ext 2 and make appointments for marriage licenses and notary pickup. The Clerk’s Office will accept filings from any customers with recording business if they call in advance. In these instances office staff will meet customers at the door, but they will not be able to come into the building until further notice.

Online record services in the Logan County Clerk’s Office via www.ecclix.com will be offered free of charge through April; please call the office for user name and password information.

For all other Logan County Services, please call the appropriate office to learn how this service can be provided, while limiting in-person contact. Please do not come to the various Logan County office buildings without first calling or emailing as you may not be able to get assistance without doing so.

Please reference the prior press release on this topic from March 16 (http://theloganjournal.com/Stories.aspx?Article=news1172) for other information relative to suggested means of remote interaction with the various County Offices.

Hopefully these safeguards will be will be a short-term inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding of these COVID-19 virus mitigation efforts.
