Justin Kirby is planning to reduce his travel distance considerably. The third generation licensed embalmer and funeral director has announced plans to open a funeral home in Russellville in the former Sav-A-Lot building, which is located in the triangle where the Bowling Green and Franklin roads intersect at East End.

Justin grew up working in the family’s J.C. Kirby Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green which his grandfather began and his dad, Kevin Kirby, has continued during a 70-year period. The last seven years he has commuted from his home in southern Logan County’s Keysburg to Providence in far western Kentcky where he has been owner-manager of Jones Kirby Funeral Home.

He and his wife Rebecca have four children—Clayton, Caiden, Gibson and Addison—who have gone to school at Olmstead. Clayton is now a student at WKU and works with his grandparents at the Lovers Lane Chapel in Bowling Green.

Justin Kirby, who is a former Warren County deputy coroner, has been active in many organizations in Warren and Webster counties and is a member of Russellville Rotary Club.
