The Russellville Independent Schools, in conjunction with Cayce Mill Supply and First Southern National Bank, is offering one free green light bulb to any resident of the city of Russellville and/or any Russellville Independent Schools Alumni as part of #LightRVKGreen.

This is in conjunction with Russellville Mayor Mark Stratton and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s recent request that Kentuckians light their homes green to bring some hope, solidarity, and the promise of renewal in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, April 22, there will be a drive-thru pick-up station set up in the Rhea Stadium parking lot from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. or until all supplies are exhausted.

Any resident of the city of Russellville and/or any Russellville Independent Schools Alumni” may receive a free light bulb.

The Russellville Independent Schools Alumni organization is part of #LightRVKGreen.

Mayor Mark Stratton and Kentucky ordered a total of 1,200 light bulbs for giveaway. That number is significant because it represents one light bulb for each of the 1,200 students in the Russellville Independent Schools.

Superintendent Bart Flener, “One of the four essential skills we ask our students to acquire as a Panther is that of Compassionate Citizenship, and we as a school district wanted to do our part to show Compassionate Citizenship within our community.

If you cannot make it to Rhea Stadium you may sign up to have a bulb delivered to you as long as supplies last.
