In a special called board meeting on Tuesday, July 14, the Russellville Board of Education approved a revision of the 2020 school calendar. The first day for students will be on Wednesday, August 26. Opening day for staff will be Wednesday, August 12, in their respective schools. The new calendar for the 2020-2021 school year is posted on our website.

The board also approved two options for students attending Russellville Independent Schools:

Option 1: Full day, face-to-face instruction will be provided for all students in P-12.

or

Option 2: Virtual Online Learning will be provided for Grades K – 12.

We understand this is very limited information. The district has developed a “draft” Roadmap to Reopening and each school is currently developing their “draft” for Roadmap to Opening for their specific building. District and school leadership will be sharing their tentative plans in a work session with the board on Monday, July 20.

We understand you will have many questions regarding schedules, instruction and safety plans in compliance with the Center for Disease Control guidelines. We assure you that we are working hard to provide high quality instruction and a safe environment for all students. When the board approves our plan, we will be able to roll out additional information after the July 21, board meeting.

This is the latest update. Any additional information released prior to the July 21, board meeting may not be accurate. Thanks, so much for your assistance!
