At Tuesday’s Logan County School  Board meeting, the first day for students was moved to Aug. 26. Students will have the option of in-person learning or the Virtual Learning Academy. The first day for preschoolers will be Aug. 31.

Many plans are being made to keep children safe and healthy, but parents will have the option of keeping their children at home and working with them through online learning, including Zoom instruction and meetings. Access to dependable internet is essential for this.

Among steps being taken for those attending classes in school buildings will be face masks in hallways and classes, temperature checks for students and staff, and seating charts to enhance social distancing. Decisions will be made on extracurricular activities as the time grows closer.

Safety measures are also planned for bus riders.
