Russellville Independent Schools has named Kenney Hartman as the new Director of Special Education. He replaces retiring director Linda Shelton.

Hartman comes to Russellville from South Warren Middle School. He has taught special education for 16 years. During this time he has undertaken leadership roles and responsibilities within the school for the intent and purpose of preparing himself to serve as the Director of Special Education at the district level.

Superintendent Leon Smith notes, “Mr. Hartman has expressed that it is his desire to finish his career as part of the Russellville School community.”

Comments from administrators who have worked with Mr. Hartman:

“Mr. Hartman is the consummate professional and leader in our building. Everything he does is outstanding!”

“From my experience working with Mr. Hartman, I am confident in saying that Mr. Hartman will make a great addition to Russellville Independent Schools and will do an outstanding job as the DoSE.”

Smith adds, “Special thanks to Dr. Regina Guthrie, Mr. Marlow Hazard, Mrs. Juli Link, and Mrs. Mackenzie DeVary for their many hours in serving on the DoSE interview and selection committee.”
