On Friday Jan. 22, Logan County Career & Technical Center hosted the COVID-19 Vaccines for Logan County Schools, Russellville Independent Schools & Russellville Christian School. The event was organized through a partnership with the local hospital, Logan Memorial Hospital, and strong cooperation from the school districts.

There were 440 vaccines given in six hours on the 22nd. An additional 48 more vaccines will be done at a makeup date in early February.

“This type of partnership-- Local Hospital, County School District, Independent School District, and Private School -- all working together for our community is the type of teamwork that makes our Commonwealth so very special! “ says Madison Rose, director of communications for Logan County Schools.

A video was made during the event. Among those making remarks:

Logan County Schools: Superintendent Paul Mullins, Central Office staffers Tyler Davenport and Danny Harris, Hope Strode of Auburn Family Resources, Jama Richardson of Logan County High School Youth Services Center, retiree and substitute teacher Carole Sindorf, Danielle Violette and Jennifer Wilcutt;
