The Adairville Site-Based Decision-Making Council met Tuesday for the purpose of principal selection. The Council voted unanimously to remove the ‘interim’ title and hire Lori Bouldin as principal effective immediately.

Bouldin began her career as a sixth grade Language Arts teacher at Christian County Middle School in 1994. In 1996, she joined Logan County Schools to serve as a Middle Grades Reading and Language Arts teacher at Adairville Middle School. During that tenure, Bouldin was a part of an award-winning team of teachers designated a “National School to Watch” five times.

After 26 years in the classroom, she was appointed interim principal of Adairville School in July of this year, leading her colleagues through a most unusual reopening due to the Covid pandemic.

“Serving as Interim Principal was both a surprise and an honor,” says Bouldin. “This year has not been short of challenges, but I’ve enjoyed every minute. Had my interim position ended today, I would have counted the opportunity to serve my school in this way as a rare blessing. However, knowing my school family wants me to continue to lead makes me incredibly excited about the future.”

Logan County Schools Superintendent Paul Mullins says, “The SBDM Council is excited for the appointment of Mrs. Lori Bouldin as principal. She has always faithfully served the students, families and community of Adairville. We are looking forward to continuing with Mrs. Bouldin as the instructional leader of Adairville School.”

Principal Bouldin grew up seeing first-hand what’s involved in serving as a school principal. Her father, Mickey Meguiar, is the retired long-time principal of Russellville High School. He also served as Assistant Superintendent of  Russellville Independent Schools. Her mother, Martha Jo Meguiar, was a long-time school office worker.

Bouldin graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English with a Middle Grades endorsement in Reading and Communication. Continuing at WKU, she earned her Master’s Degree in Education and a Rank I in Administration. She is a National Board Certified Teacher twice over, certifying in 2004 and again in 2014.

Bouldin lives in Russellville with her husband Thomas. They have three daughters: Ann-Meguiar, Olivia, and Eva.
