A meeting of Russellville Alumni and friends of the school system will be held Tuesday, March 2, at 5:15 p.m. in the R21C Center, which is the former Russellville Area Vocational School, also known as the Technology Center.

Much of the discussion will center around plans for the Veterans’ Memorial to be built in front of Russellville High School. The historic school bell which has been located near that site will be part of it.

Principal Ben Bruni has been a strong advocate of this project since its beginning.

Architect Jim Humphrey—an RHS alumnus—has designed the memorial. Another former Panther, James Henry Duncan, has supplied a list of Logan Countians who have died in international wars, according to a memorial in Central Kentucky.

Donors are being sought to make the project a reality by Veterans Day this November. Several families and individuals have made donations, but more are needed.

Anyone who wants to donate to this cause can use the following form:

One of the Alumni Association leaders, Jean Sosh Reynolds, says, “We’re excited to update everyone on the beautiful Veteran’s Memorial to be built on the RHS campus. A huge thank you to those who have donated to this special structure.

“Please come be a part of keeping your Panther Heritage alive, relive memories, and have a good time with friends who love the Black and Gold.”
