Bowling Green too much for Cougars at region
Sajaun Watkins
may have been the best player in the game and Torin Graham, who was the game's top scorer with 22, stayed focused all night, but the two Logan
County standouts couldn't match the quick, balanced attack of Bowling Green in the first round of the 4th Region Tournament Wednesday. Watkins, the
Cougars' senior center, scored 20 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, but BGH led the whole way in a 75-59 win. Nacrius Fant scored 20 to lead the Purples, who will now play Russell County, which won with similar ease against Barren County, in Monday's senifinal. Logan's successful
season ended at 21-11.
Auburn Community Wellness Fair offers free screens
A Community Wellness Fair will be held at New Friendship Baptist Church outside Auburn Saturday morning, March 10, from 8-11. Screening opportunities
will include blood glucose, blood pressure check, body fat analysis, bone density testing, cholesterol testing, colon cancer screening, glaucoma
screening, lung function testing, PSA and sleep apnea assessment. Transportation is available in the Auburn area for those who call 542-6244 by March
9. Child care will be provided for participants. Everything is free. Auburn Community Health Clinic is assisting the church in providing this service.

Bowling Green ends Lady Panthers' season
The Russellville Lady Panthers outscored two-time defending regional champion Bowling Green (25-3) in the 1st and 4th quarters, but BGH dominated the
middle periods on the way to a 63-30 win in the 4th Region Tournament at Diddle Arena Tuesday. Coach Dedra Adler's team led 9-7 after a quarter
and took the final stanza 17-15, but BGH out-scored RHS 41-4 in between. Diamond Marshall had 17 of her 19 points by the end of the 3rd period,
and Brittany Vaughn scored all 13 of her points in that quarter. Russellville's first point of the second half came at 7:04 in the 4th as Amber Sydnor hit a free throw. Jazzy Elliott and Kahlia Hampton followed with 3-pointers, but it was too late. Elliott led Russellville
with 9 points and Hampton had 8. The boys region starts Wednesday night with Logan County going against Bowling Green at 6:30.

Todd Central advances to clash with Glasgow
Coach Steve Phillips' 13th District champion Todd Central Lady Rebels (23-6) whipped Metcalfe County 51-29 in the 4th Region Tournament Monday.
They will now go against one of the favorites, Glasgow (26-4), in next Monday's semifinals. The Lady Scotties are coached by former Logan County
assistant coach Justin Stinson. Russellville opens play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against another favorite, Bowling Green (24-3).
Orange, Noe withdrawing from state rep race
The field of candidates for the state representative race involving Logan and Todd counties has narrowed from five to three. Both Republican Jo Orange and Democrat Tom Noe have decided to drop their candidacies after it was determined the district will have the same boundaries
as the last 10 years, rather than the new one which the court system has ruled unconstitutional. Because of the rulings, incumbent Democrat Martha Jane King is seeking reelection rather than running for the senate. King is now unopposed in her primary, but Republicans still seeking
their nomination are Jimmy Kent Wilson and Chris Hightower.

RHS-LCHS teams draw 14th District boys
It will be the 13th District vs. the 14th District in the early games of the 4th Region boys basketball tournament this week. The Logan the 4th Region
boys basketball tournament this week. The Logan County Cougars will meet Bowling Green at 6:30 Wednesday and the Russellville Panthers will go against
defending regional champ Warren Central at 6:30 Thursday. Barren and Russell counties are in Logan's bracket. Clinton County and Glasgow share the
Panthers' bracket. LCHS Athletic Director Hugh McReynolds says advance tickets will be on sale in the school office Tuesday and until 2 p.m.
Wednesday. The semifinals are set next Monday.
Genealogical Society seeking old school stories
The Logan County Genealogical Society is seeking small stories or quips about old Logan County schools Whitescarver-Diamond Springs, Pogue, Jericho,
Iron Mountain, and Audus. Anyone who has memories is asked to share them for inclusion in the Logan Links, the genealogical newspaper. Any items
can be sent to lynejudy@gmail.com or by phoning the Archives (726-8179) and telling the story to the clerk. Judy Lyne says, "Be sure to leave
your name and contact information so we know who gets the credit or blame! Hurry! Publication date is Wednesday." Grade cards, photo or, other

Lady Panthers to face powerful BGH at region
The Russellville Lady Panthers face a tough test to open Fourth Region Tournament play. Coach Dedra Adler's team will take on Bowling Green at
6:30 Tuesday at Diddle Arena. Coach Lavonda Johnson's Lady Purples are two-time defending regional champs and are enjoying another great season.
Todd Central, the 13th District champion, will play Metcalfe County at 6:30 Monday. The Lady Rebels are in the bracket with Glasgow.
Pardues lead Panthers to district championship
Fueled by the long-range shooting of senior Davis Pardue, the Russellville Panthers outscored favored Logan County 83-79 Friday for the 13th
District boys basketball championship. Pardue hit eight 3-point goals on the way to 31 points. His bomb with 2:55 left broke the last of 12 ties, and
the Panthers never trailed again. His dad, Coach Dennis Pardue, gambled by holding out key post player Jordan Kennedy the entire
third quarter because of foul trouble, and it appeared to pay off. Foul trouble was a problem for both teams with 26 being whistled against Logan and
22 against RHS. Sajuan Watkins, Ryan Harper & Torin Graham all fouled out for the Cougars and Zach Hines & Darian Callaway for
the Panthers. Kennedy had 14 points, Josh Hampton 9, and Callaway and Hines 8 each. Watkins topped LCHS with 22 while Twin Lancaster
added 20 and Graham 18. The Cougars had won both regular season meetings.

Todd Central beats Lady Panthers for district title
Todd Central (22-6) played super defense in beating homestanding Russellville 38-20 for the 13th District girls championship Thurs-day, the Lady
Rebels' second straight.title. Leading the way was Kalisha Rose, who kept the Lady Panthers' Amber Sydnor from taking a shot in the first
half. The veteran Lady Panther point guard scored only a single point for the game. Even though she was in foul trouble all night, Ariel Johnson
scored 13 points for Todd and sophomore center Claire Hart had 9. Imani Hampton led RHS with 7 and Davonna Sydnor added 5. Named
to the all-tournament team were Todd's Julia Fox, Rose and Maggie Simons, RHS' Imani Hampton and Amber Sydnor, Logan County's Kapreshia Powell, and Franklin-Simpson's
Tasia Covington.
Hampton, Sydnor, Powell, Fox, Rose and Covington also were on the all-season team along with Todd's Johnson & Hart and Logan's Jaylin Jones & Shannon MacAllister.

Russellville's teams advance to finals, region
Both Russellville basketball teams won at home Tuesday in the 13th District Tournament to move on to the finals and region. The Lady Panthers hit 16 of
23 4th quarter free throws to beat Logan County 47-39, avenging a pair of losses. Coach Dedra Adler's team trailed by two before going on a 9-0
run. Amber Sydnor scored 14, Khalia Hampton 11 and Imani Hampton 10. For the Lady Cougars freshman Kapreshia Powell scored
12 and Jaylin Jones 10. Eight LCHS players scored
RHS and Franklin-Simpson were tied five times until the middle of the second quarter when the Panthers took the lead for keeps on a Darian Callaway goal. They never trailed again, although the halftime score was 25-24.Coach Dennis Pardue's team took the 3rd quarter
14-4 to build a cushion. Jordan Kennedy slammed home a pair of consecutive dunks to make the lead 15 with 2:45, but the Cats kept coming back on
the dynamic play of Tanner Clark. The Panthers held on for a 59-50 win. Callaway scored 15, Davis Pardue 13 and Kennedy 12 for RHS. Clark
had 25 points for Franklin with Drew Talley adding 9. Both F-S teams had gone to region for 10 straight years, but both are out now.
RHS plays Todd Central in the 7 p.m. girls final Thursday with the boys meeting Logan County at the same time Friday.

Republicans plan County Mass Convention March 17
The Logan County Republican Executive Committee will hold the County Mass Convention to elect precinct officers, county officers, and convention
delegates on Saturday, March 17 at the historic old courthouse at 10 a.m. All interested registered Republicans are urged to attend.
Cougars hold off Todd, break postseason streak
For the first time in 14 years, the Logan County Cougars have won a postseason game. Coach Harold Tackett's team won over Todd Central 88-73
Monday in the 13th District Tournament to record win #21. The Cougars roared out to a 31-7 lead, but Todd cut the margin to six midway through the 4th
quarter before the Cougars scored 12 straight points. Twin Lancaster scored 29, Sajuan Watkins 18, Ryan Harper 13, Aratan Martin 12 and Torin Graham 11. For Todd, Jon-Michael Brown scored 24, Dustin Naylor 15 Jaylin Henry 13 and
reserve Keilo Hooiser 11, 9 of them coming in the 4th quarter.
The Cougars await Tuesday's winner of the Russellville vs. Franklin Simpson game in Friday's finals. Franklin will play without Jerrel Wickware,
who scored all 11 of Franklin's first-half points the last time these they played the Panthers.
Todd Central reached the girls finals with a 55-35 win Monday over F-S. The Lady Rebels will play the survivor of Tuesday's Clash of the Lady Cats in
the championship game at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Greg Pogue writes tribute to his dad, the coach
The day before Gordon Pogue's death, his son, Greg Pogue, wrote a tribute to him which appeared in the Daily News Journal of
Murfreesboro, Tenn. Greg has been executive sports editor and columnist for the Gannett publication. Gordon was a star player at Lewisburg High, WKU
and in the military. He was the coach at old Chandlers High School. His funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church near Auburn.

Harper named head coach; public event Monday
Western Kentucky University will hold a press conference coinciding with an introduction of new head men's basketball coach Ray Harper and pep
rally Monday at 6 p.m. on the main floor of E.A. Diddle Arena. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature performances by the
cheerleaders, the Topperettes and the pep band, and Big Red will be in attendance. Limited concessions will be available for purchase on the first
floor of the arena. Doors will open at 5:30. Harper has been interim head coach.

Split with Hoptown teams leaves Cougars at 20-9
After winning 69-66 at University Heights Academy Tuesday for their 20th win of the season, the Logan County Cougars fell to visiting Hopkinsville
70-61 Friday to end a 12-game win streak for Coach Harold Tackett's team. Sajuan Watkins scored 11 points in the 4th quarter for Logan to
finish with 20, but Twin Lancaster, who had 19 points, didn't score in the final period. Torin Graham added 14. For the Tigers, who beat
Logan by 6 to start their 27-2 season, Jordan Majors had 21, C.J. Childress & Jaqualis Mat-lock 14 each, and T.J. Elam 10. The Cougars meet Todd Central Monday in the first game of the 13th District Tournament at RHS.

Free meal being offered in Auburn tonight
A "free" spaghetti dinner is being offered Friday for anyone who needs a warm meal and people to share it with. It will be in Auburn at the American
Legion Hall on Main Street from 6-7:30 p.m
Freshmen District Tournament Saturday at LCHS
The 13th District Freshmen Basketball Tournament for boys will be held Saturday at Logan County High's main gym. Russellville will play the host
Cougars at 9 a.m. Todd Central and Franklin-Simpson will meet at 10:45. The championship game should start about 11:30, Athletic Director Hugh McReynolds says.
Community Prom Drive at New Life Saturday
New Life Baptist Church Women's Ministry will hold a Community Prom Drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m, this Saturday at the Montgomery Road Exit near Auburn on
U.S. 68/80. Donations of prom dresses, shoes and accessories such as clutches, scarves and jewelry will be appreciated. All contributions will be used
for “All Dressed Up," to be held at the church March 9-10 from 6 p.m.-8 a.m.. This event gives area high school girls a chance to shop for this year's

Times, pairings set for 13th District Tournament
Times have been announced for next week's 13th District Tourna-ment at Russellville's Jim Young Gymnasium. In the girls division, number one Todd
Central will play number 4 Franklin Simpson at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Number 2 Logan County will face homestanding RHS at the same time Tuesday. The finals
will be Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7. In the boys division, top-seeded LCHS will play Todd at 6:30 Monday. Number 2 RHS will go against F-S at 6:30 Tuesday.
The boys championship game will be on Friday, beginning at 7. All four schools play in each of the first two nights.

Cougar track dominates Henderson County meet
The Logan County Cougars dominated an indoor track meet at Henderson County this weekend, finishing 1st overall and placing in every event except pole
vault and winning a trio of them. Sye Head won the 3000-meter run and joined Noah Thomas, Barrett Rogers & Colton Spencer in winning
the 4X800 Meter relay. Also Jerry Hendrix took 1st place in the high jump with Justin Rone 2nd and Michael Sydnor 6th. Picking up
3rds were Aaron Johnson, Spencer & Thomas along with the relay team of Kelly Eicher, Levi Crossley, Isaiah Spivey & Kaleb O'Dell. Also placing was Tyler Wood. Coach Greg Howard said, "We have a
large number of athletes that competed in their very first track meet and I was pleased with where we are. Many of these athletes are just starting to
find out about technique, training, and skills involved in each event. They will be something to really watch this year! "

King, DeCesare withdraw from Senate race
After Judge Phillip Shepherd ruled Kentucky's redistricting plan is unconstitutional, many candidates had to quickly reverse their plans for
this year's elections. Since the old districts are now in effect with a court appeal pending, Joey Pendleton would stay in his role as Logan
County's senator. Representatives Martha Jane King and Jim DeCesare, who had filed to run in a new Senate district which included Logan
County, have decided to run for their current House seats and have withdrawn from Senate consideration. Jo Orange, Jimmy Kent Wilson & Chris Hightower are still in the House race as Republicans while Tom Noe has filed as a Democrat. It
remains to be seen if Noe will withdraw, as King had originally encouraged him to enter the race.
Cougars win 11th straight; Lady Cougars upset
The Logan County Cougars (19-8) won their 11th straight game by beating South Warren (8-19) 60-49 at SWHS' homecoming. Twin Lancaster scored 17, Aratan Martin 14 and Sajuan Watkins 13. Travis Hardcastle led the Spartans with 14 and Brad Logsdon 10. South Warren's
(5-22) got a rare win, beating the Lady Cougars via a 15-1 run. Freshman Colby Downing led the winners with 16 and K.K. Burnette had 12. Shannon MacAllister scored 16 and fellow senior Jaylin Jones 11 in the 48-41 loss for Logan (10-13).
Griffin Joiner's homer gives UK won in LA
Freshman catcher Griffin Joiner hit a two-out home run in the final inning to give the University of Kentucky a 3-2 softball win over Pacific at
UCLA Friday. The granddaughter of Lewisburg graduates Dixie Shelton Dennis and Glenn Smith followed a 2-run homer by Greenwood grad Rachel Riley, also the winning pitcher.

Brown's buzzer beater gives Todd win over RHS

swished a 3-pointer as time expired Friday, giving Todd Central a 59-56 upset win over the Panthers at Russellville's homecoming. It was the first
district win for Coach Calvin Head's Rebels. Brown scored 28 points. The Panthers led 25-9 after a quarter. At that juncture Davis Pardue
had hit a quartet of 3-pointers on the way to 14 points. Todd led 55-51 with a minute remaining on a pair of free throws by Byron Stewart, but
Pardue scored 5 points in the final minute, tying the game with 18 seconds left. Guard C.J. Broderick dribbled most of the remaining time until
getting the ball to Brown for the game winner. Dustin Naylor scored 14 for Todd and Josh Hampton 13 for RHS. The Todd girls
finished a perfect 6-0 in the district with a closer-than-predicted 54-44 win over Coach Dedra Adler's improved Lady Panthers. Neither opening
district game matches Todd and RHS.
Super Sunday college prep event Sunday in BG
State Street Baptist Church in Bowling Green will host a Super Sunday event this Sunday in an attempt to convince people who may have doubts about
attending college to do so. Bowling Green Technical College is partnering with African American churches to host a college information fair for
prospective students and their families. The worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with the fair to follow. BGTC faculty and staff have been invited to
attend.
Former Lady Cougar Dorris to play for Lynchburg
Ann Dorris
, who has been playing college basketball for Hardin-Simmons in Texas, has transferred to Lynchburg College in Virginia. The former Logan County Lady
Cougar will have two years of eligibility, beginning this fall. She considered transferring to Brescia in Owensboro where she was recruited out of high
school, but it wasn't a fit academically. Brescia coach John Swickrath sent game film to Lynchburg coach Abby Pyzik, who then issued the
invitation for Dorris to be a part of the team. Steve Dorris says of his daughter, "She loves the school and the coach. It's a great fit for
her."

Death claims former RHS Principal Roy Reynolds
R.D. Reynolds
, who served Russellville High School as principal from the early 60s through 1971 and then was one of the top officials in WKU's School Relations
program, died Thursday shortly before noon at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky. He is survived by his wife Carole, son Mark, and
daughters Rhonda Jones & Michelle Bell along with nine grandchildren.

Lady Cougars beat Edmonson County on Senior Night
The Logan County Lady Cougars picked up an impressive win at home Tuesday, beating a good Edmonson County team 38-33 on Senior Night. SophomoreLaura Hunt hit a crucial 3-pointer and a pair of late free throws on the way to nine points. Senior Kate Brooks had 8 points, Shannon MacAllister pulled down some key rebounds, and freshman Madison Alvis played well in a Logan comeback. Madison Rich topped
ECHS with 12 points.

Cougars come back to beat Breck for 10th straight
Despite trailing by five points with fewer than four minutes remaining, the Logan County Cougars beat visiting Breckinridge County 71-69 on Senior
Night Tuesday. It was the tenth straight win for Coach Harold Tackett's team.

Olmstead girls, Lewisburg boys county champs
The Olmstead Rams were awesome while the Lewisburg Rangers edged Auburn Monday as both favorites won county middle school basketball championships at
Logan County High. Highly favored Olmstead played almost flawlessly in beating Adairville 43-8 to defend their championship. Taleia Mason led
the way with 12 points and Logan Williamson was right behind with 11 while Rachel Barnett and Cierra Johnson each added 8. Brianna Wooden scored 4 for Adairville with Laura Hendricks and Grace McLellan each adding 2 for the Lady Cardinals.
Auburn battled the entire way, but Lewisburg managed to pull out a 36-33 win in the nightcap. Coach Gerald Tabb's team dominated on the
perimeter. Garrison Rosser, who scored 15, hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining to give the Rangers the lead for good. Tiger starMichael Riley hit a free throw, but his team took a timeout before he shot the second, and he missed it. The board was pulled down by Dalton Furlow, who sank both free throws. Auburn's Taylor Owens, who had attempted several 3-pointers in the contest, came close on a try
to tie it at the buzzer, but it was off. Hunter Crafton scored 10, and Quentin Nash, who had some key blocks of long-range Tiger shots,
finished with 6. Riley, who scored all 13 of the Tigers' first half points, finished with 17. Austin Bagby, Easton May, Kenny Cornist and Owens
all scored 4 for the Tigers, who were runner-up for the second straight year.
Pairings complete for 13th District Tournament
Although Todd Central's teams are headed to Russellville Friday, pairings are complete for the 13th District Tournament, which will be played at
Russellville's Jim Young Gymnasium the week of Feb. 20. In the girls division, top-seeded Todd Central will meet Franklin-Simpson in a rematch of last
year's finalists. That means number two Logan County and Russellville will meet in a 3rd Clash of the Cats. In the boys division, Logan County (6-0)
will play Todd and second-seeded RHS will take on F-S.

Top-seeded Olmstead girls, Lewisburg boys get wins
The higher seeded teams continued to win in the Logan County Middle School Tournament Saturday night. The defending champion Lady Rams of Olmstead beat
Lewisburg 48-29 with eight girls scoring, led by Cierra Johnson's 10, Taylor Borders' 8, Logan Williamson's 7 andTaleia Mason's 6. Breanna Baptiste topped Coach Travis Anderson's LMS team with 8. Lauren Burnett and Brittany Wilhelm each scored 4.
The Lewisburg boys led 10-0 after a quarter with Garrison Rosser scoring 7. Then Dalton Furlow scored the first 5 points of the 2nd
period to make it 15-0. Olmstead roared back with Lorenzo Garcia scoring all 11 of his points in the second half. OMS trailed only 27-17 when
Coach Jerald Tabb's Rangers rebuilt their 15-point lead. Quentin Nash hit a 3-pointer and Jordan Hendrix scored two quick buckets;
LMS led 34-19. The Rams' Andrew Martin hit a trey and Garcia put in two quick buckets, but OMS finished the game 12-3 for a 46-29 win. Rosser
led the winners with 14, Nash 12 and Furlow 9. Dalton Nash finished second to Garcia with 7 for OMS.
Adairville girls, Auburn boys advance to LCMST finals
Saturday afternoon, Adairville and Auburn split wins in the Logan County Middle School Tournament. The Lady Cardinals won 27-22 in overtime with Laura Hendricks hitting a 3-pointer and Lauren Batten and Brooke Barnes also scoring in OT. Batten led Coach Todd Webb's
winners with 10 points. Kaitlynne Fisher led Auburn with 12 points while Sierra Morrow had 6. Michael Riley of Auburn and sixth
grader Austin Rayno of Adairville each scored 17, but Riley got more help in the Tigers' 36-31 win. Rayno hit four 3-pointers, all but one in
the 2nd quarter, to bring the Cardinals back from a 23-12 halftime deficit to a 29-25 lead, but Taylor Owens made two steals and hit a layup and
a 3-pointer to put the Tigers up. Point guard Jackson Allen hit a pair of treys for the Cardinals, but his foul trouble hurt his team;
Former RHS Principal Roy Reynolds enters Hospice
One of Russellville High's most respected and popular principals ever was transferred to Hospice of Southern Kentucky Friday. Roy Dickey 'R.D.' Reynolds has been in Greenview Hospital for over a week suffering from problems with blood clots. His address is Hospice of

Long-range bombs help Cougars beat Panthers again
The Logan County Cougars hit 10 3-point goals, 6 of them by senior guard Ryan Harper, on the way to a 90-79 win at Russellville Friday night.
Harper finished with 28 points while Twin Lancaster added 25 and Torin Graham 21. Behind a strong second half by Jordan Kennedy,
who was not active the first half, the Panthers cut the lead to 4 at 74-70, but LCHS scored 10 of the next 12, 7 of them by Graham, Logan got a big
lift from Avrey Collier in relief when center Sajuan Watkins spent most of the game in foul trouble. Four Panthers finished in double
figures. Josh Hampton and Kennedy had 17 each, Darrion Quarles 14 and Dominique Harris 13 for the Panthers. Logan has won 9
straight, beginning with a win over RHS in January.

Lady Cougars complete sweep of Russellville
Super free throw shooting and solid performances by a pair of 9th graders helped the Logan County Lady Cougars win at Russellville Friday. The 47-39
win gave Coach Scot MacAllister's team sweep the Lady Panthers in the regular season. Logan hit 10 of 12 free throws in the 4th quarter with
freshman Kapreshia Powell going 5 for 6 and senior Jaylin Jones 3 for 3. Maegann Hardison, also a freshman, hit a 3-pointer as the
3rd quarter ended and then hit a pair of clinching free throws. Jones finished with 14 points and the freshmen each scored 10. Russellville had cut the
lead to 26-24, and Amber Sydnor almost made a steal for a go-ahead bucket, but instead Hardison cashed in her trey. Imani Hampton scored
14 for RHS. Amy Rosser hit some big buckets for the home team.

Kentucky Museum offering Logan History Day
The Kentucky Library & the Kentucky Museum possess many fascinating Logan County-based artifacts, photographs, documents, diaries, letters,
genealogical materials and much more. A fun, informal morning showcasing Logan treasures will be held March 31. Participants will tour the original
Felts Log House located next to the museum, study rare images and artifacts, read unpublished letters and diaries, and discover a myriad of useful
genealogical resources.
There is no fee, but participants must pre-register no later than March 26 by calling Christy Spurlock, 270-745-6082 or email
Christy.Spurlock@wku.edu .Space is limited. Program designed for those 14 and older. The Kentucky Museum is located at 1444 Kentucky Street, on the WKU

Auburn youth baseball, softball signups to begin
Registration for the Auburn baseball and softball leagues will be Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Auburn
Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Feb. 11 from 9 a.m to noon in the LCHS lobby. Tee ball is for ages 4-6, machine pitch is for ages 7-8, girls soft
tee ball is for ages 5-7 and girls softball for ages 10U, 12U and 14U. The registration fee is $45. For more information, call Jeff Robinson at

Hightower makes 4th state representative candidate
Chris Hightower
of Auburn has become the third Republican and fourth candidate in the race for the 16th District state House seat being vacated by Senate candidate Martha Jane King. A press release says, "Born and raised in Logan County, he seeks to run an issues-based campaign highlighting the $41 billion
state debt, the $50+ billion in unfunded state pension liabilities, improvements to education, term limits and a host of other matters of concern to
voters." Jimmy Kent Wilson and Jo Orange had previously announced their candidacies in the Republican primary. Tom Noe has filed as a
Democrat. The filing deadline has been extended to Feb. 7 because of litigation brought by Republicans concerning the redistricting map which had been
signed into law.
