Logan's vaccination rate among area's highest

Logan County has one of the highest vaccination rates for COVID-19 in the eight-county Barren River Health District.

Logan has the second highest vaccination rate overall at 39.1 percent, second only to Simpson County’s 41.3 percent.

But Logan has the highest rate among the Medicare age group—65 or older. Logan is just a shade below three-quarters being fully vaccinated at 74.59 percent. Simpson is close behind at 73.71 percent.

In between Simpson has a bigger edge among all people 18 and above. Simpson County is at 53.0 percent and Logan second at 49.8percent.

Overall, Kentucky has a vaccination rate of 44.8 percent. Some two million Kentuckians are fully vaccinated. Logan County is 5 percent below the state average. For the United States, the rate is 49.1 percent. 161 million Americans are fully vaccinated.

Percent of Vaccinated Older that 18: 1) Simpson 53.07%, 2) Logan 49.87%, 3) Warren 47.24%, 4) Barren 46.6%, 5) Butler 44.99%, 6) Metcalfe 37.4%, 7) Hart 36.91%, 8) Edmonson 36.38%

Percent of Vaccinated Older than 65: 1) Logan 74.59%, 2) Simpson 73.71%, 3) Barren 72.25%, 4) Warren 69.93%, 5) Hart 56.36%, 6) Butler 55.59%, 7) Metcalfe 50.28%, 8) Edmonson 46.40%
