Kentucky Board of Education's Emergency Regulation requiring masks in all schools will come to an end on Thursday, Sept. 16 as a result of the passing of Senate Bill 1 in this month's emergency legislative session called in Frankfort.

Based on school and community data, Russellville Independent Schools will continue to require masks in all our indoor buildings and facilities effective this Friday, Sept. 17, and until further notice

Our district leaders are currently in communication with local and state health departments, and our Board of Education members to form a plan of action based on the requirements identified in the passing of Senate Bill 1.

Together, we are seeking to implement a Test to Stay program as well as changing quarantine requirements. These efforts will keep the health and safety of our students and staff our top priority while also decreasing the number of students missing class due to exposures and quarantines.
