Jackson Campbell started a rally that allowed host Belmont to come from four runs down in the ninth and sent the game into an extra inning, with the Bruins edging the WKU Hilltoppers 8-7 in 10 innings. Campbell--the Bruins' oft-honored catcher from Logan County--worked a one-out walk in the bottom of the ninth inning, and scored the first comeback run with two outs. Jordan Blick homers in LWC win

Former Russellville baseball star Jordan Blick made his mark on Lindsey Wilson College Baseball Sunday, homering for the Raiders in a win over Thomas Moore. In the bottom of the fifth inning, he drove a 1-2 pitch over right field for a solo shot, putting the home team up 4-0. He also played first base. LWC is Blick’s third college team in five years. He began his career at Campbellsville University but then transferred to Kentucky Wesleyan, an NCAA Division II team. Between his own injuries and COVID 19 affecting season, he seldom played for the Panthers but was named to the All-Conference Academic Team. He also started this season with an injury but has been cleared to play. Good news, too, is that a special COVID ruling makes him eligible for a sixth season next year, if he chooses to accept it.

Terrie Lawson becomes first

political advertiser on The LoJo in '22

Terrie Lawson, a candidate for Logan County Clerk, is the first candidate running in primary elections in Logan County in 2022 to authorize a political advertisement on The Logan Journal. She chose a banner ad alternating at the top of the Obituary section of The LoJo. Three local funeral homes who advertise on The LoJo--Summers and Son Funeral Home, Price Funeral Home and Kirby Funeral Service--submit obituaries for their patrons to be run on The LoJo, and each one of them draws hundreds and in many cases thousands of readers, who also see the advertisements on that page. Packages are also available for banners ads on all the other pages, for button ads along the sides of pages, and a combination of all pages. Candidates interested in telling their story on The LoJo should contact Jim Turner to obtain information on packages.
