Russellville-Logan County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet June 10

The Russellville-Logan County NAACP’s 43rd Annual Freedom Fund Banquet (FFB) will be Saturday, June 10, at the Russellville-Logan County Memorial Parks and Recreation Sportsman Club. This year’s theme is “Keep Moving Forward.” The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. The menu includes smoked beef, ham, mac and cheese, green beans, and a variety of desserts. Tea and water will also be served.

The guest speaker is the Honorable Judge Arnold B. Lynch from Hopkinsville/Christian County. He is married to Ruth for 41 years. Judge Lynch graduated from Hopkinsville High School where he excelled in academics and athletics, then attended and graduated Austin Peay State University in 1975 as a Drane Award nominee. In 1979 Judge Lynch graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He established Lynch Law Firm in 1980and was elected the first African American Judge in Western Kentucky in 2002.

“Come mingle with us to hear Judge Lynch’s message,” says NAACP spokeman William Woodard. “We will award one scholarship to a graduating senior from Logan County High School who has made the decision to further his education. We wish him well.”

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for youth under 18 years of age.”

Attendees are welcomed to participate in a “Silent Auction” as part of the program.
