At a special called board meeting Tuesday evening, the Russellville Independent Board of Education announced Kyle Estes as the new superintendent. He has served as interim superintendent for RIS since May.
Estes has nine years of experience as the Superintendent of Hancock County. He joined the staff at Russellville High School as a math teacher in January.
“I am excited about the opportunity to move the district from ‘Good’ to ‘Great,’” said Estes. “I am looking forward to continuing the focus on student successes.
Kyle Estes and his wife Jessica are members of the Russellville community. They have three children, and their two daughters are students in the Russellville Independent School District.
He succeeds Larry Begley, who served in the role briefly before accepting the superintendency of Bourbon County Schools this spring.
The board thanks KSBA’s superintendent search consultant for guiding them through this process. The board also thanks the RIS superintendent screening committee for their hard work over the summer.
