Hayeses' son-in-law receives military promotion

Michael T. Triplett, currently stationed at Ft. Polk, La., was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army on May 1. LTC Triplett is currently the Deputy Commanding Officer for the 1st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (1MEB) at Ft. Polk.

LTC Triplett was selected for Battalion Command and will assume responsibility of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant (IAAP) in Middletown, Ia. in July 2013. The IAAP produces missile warheads, tank ammunition, artillery rounds, and demolition charges for the Defense industrial base, which includes research, development, inspection, testing, assembly, packing and demilitarization.

LTC Triplett enlisted in the US Army National Guard as a 51B Carpentry and Masonry Specialist in 1990 and completed basic training at Ft Leonard Wood, Mo. He received his commission as a Quartermaster Officer in 1995 from Missouri Southern State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

LTC Triplett is married to Tammy Hayes Triplett, formerly of Russellville. Mrs. Triplett is the daughter of Gabby and Sandy Hayes of Russellville. The Tripletts have three sons, Zack, 17, Jake, 15, and Brett, 4.
