RISD honored with United Way of Southern Kentucky Community Impact Partnership Award

Russellville Independent Schools (RISD) is the recipient of the prestigious United Way of Southern Kentucky Community Impact Partnership Award for its outstanding contributions to the 12 for 12 Program. This accolade recognizes RISD's exceptional dedication to advancing the Community Impact initiatives of the United Way of Southern Kentucky (UWSK), particularly in the realm of Education.

The United Way of Southern Kentucky Community Impact Partnership Awards celebrate organizations that have partnered with UWSK to significantly advance the United Way's Community Impact Education objectives. These objectives primarily focus on preparing children, youth & young adults to succeed in school and life, with an emphasis on Kindergarten Readiness and College and Career Readiness.

Through innovative educational approaches such as career and technical education, apprenticeships, and work-and-learn models, RISD has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom. Central to RISD's efforts is the 12 for 12 Program, which has been generously funded by the United Way ofSouthern Kentucky.

This program is designed to empower students by providing them with essential resources and opportunities to excel academically and professionally. Specifically, the funding from United Way is allocated towards covering the costs forsophomores to take the ACT exam and assisting students with payments for dual credit classes.

By investing in initiatives like the 12 for 12 Program, RISD is not only enhancing educational outcomes but also fostering a culture of academic excellence and career readiness within the community. Through this partnership with the United Way of Southern Kentucky, RISD is helping to build a brighter future for students and families across the region.
