Logan County Board of Education announced Ben Kemplin as the Logan County Schools’ new assistant superintendent during Tuesday night’s regular board meeting.
“It is important for me as Superintendent to be more available to educators and visible in our schools,” said Superintendent Dan Costellow. “It is also critical that our leadership structure provides clear channels of communication and efficiency to better meet the needs of our staff, students, and community.”
The Board has approved the new position and stipend for Kemplin to assist Dr. Costellow in addition to Kemplin’s current role as Logan County Schools Director of Operations and Human Resources.
"Serving the students and staff of Logan County School System has been an honor and a privilege, and I look forward to serving them even more in this new role of Assistant Superintendent,” said Kemplin.
Kemplin is currently in his ninth year serving as the Director of Operations and Human Resources for Logan County Schools. He began his career as an Industrial Arts/Tech Education Teacher at Christian County Middle School. Six years later he was named Principal at Olmstead School, which he led for 16 years. During his tenure, Olmstead was named a School to Watch and performed in the top 10 percent on the state assessment.
Kemplin received his Master's Degree and Rank I in Educational Administration P-12 from Murray State University and earned his Superintendent of Schools certificate in 2014.
