Russellville High School is welcoming back former RHS teacher Drew Teel as the new principal of the school for the 2024-25 school year.

“I am extremely honored to be selected as the next principal of Russellville High School,” says Teel. “I am very excited for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community in the place where I began my career in education.”

Teel is a current resident of Logan County, with his wife and their two children. He has served as the Auburn School’s Assistant Principal since 2021. Teel moved to Russellville with his wife Elizabeth in 2012, where he began his career in education as a paraeducator at R.E. Stevenson Elementary. For seven years, Teel served as a special education teacher in Olmstead School (2016-2021) and Russellville High School (2014-2016).

Teel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Faulkner University in 2008. In 2011 he received his Masters in Education from Auburn University Montgomery followed by his Masters of Art in Teaching in Learning and Behavior Disorders from University of the Cumberlands in 2016, as well as an endorsement in MSD from Georgetown College. Most recently, he received his Masters of Art in Education Administration Principal from Campbellsville University in 2021.

“The Russellville Independent School District has a long tradition of excellence that I look forward to being a part of again. Go Panthers!” said Teel.

Drew Teel is married to the former Elizabeth Teel, a native of Allensville who is an attorney in private practice as well as being Russellville City Attorney.

The principal’s position came open this summer when Rex Booth resigned to accept the superintendency of Trigg County Schools.
