Although it’s not an official Festival event, Shawn McCormick of B.H. James Distillers of Adairville has announced “the new release of our Burton James Bourbon Batch #2 Barrel Proof this Thursday in conjunction with the Strawberry Festival.”
Thursday’s activities conclude with karaoke led by Clay Bilyeu from 6-9 p.m.
Friday
The featured Friday festival event will be the Kiddie Parade at 3 p.m. Chairperson Jessica Moore Hall says, “The Adairville Strawberry Festival Kiddie Parade holds a special place in my heart, as it was a highlight of my childhood. I was delighted to bring it back to the festival lineup in 2024, aiming to create an equally memorable experience for the next generation. All participants will be given a prize! Additionally, I would like to thank Independence Bank for their kindness in providing popsicles after the parade.
“If you’ve aged out of participating, you can still come to watch these cute kiddos parade around town.”
The Quilt Show will be held at the Methodist Church close to the square from 1-5 p.m. The quilts will be available for viewing again on Saturday from 11-5.
Vendors will open their booths at 1:30 and rides begin running at 4.
The dance band Four on the Floor will entertain from 7-10 p.m.
Saturday
Something is happening—often lots of somethings—all day. It begins with the Pancake Breakfast from 6-9 a.m. at the Adairville Fire Station.
After a patriotic presentation at noon, the 2025 Strawberry Festival will be dedicated to religious and civic leader William Washington, a pastor in South Logan for decades who was known to the rest of the county as one of the original custodians of Logan County High School.
The Grand Marshall of the 2 p.m. parade will be professional drummer Gene Chrisman.
At 12:10 p.m. will be the annual reenactment of the legendary dual between future President Andrew Jackson and Charles Dickinson. South Logan farming brothers Harris and Dave Dockins usually play key roles in it.
Between the reenactment and the parade, music will be provided by The Kentuckasseans, an appropriate name for a band performing in a Kentucky city that’s closest to the Tennessee line.
Those waiting for the parade can enjoy visiting the vendors, the rides or the Quilt Show.
The final event is a performance by the popular band Tyrone Dunn & Kinfolk from 7-10 p.m. Dancing is encouraged.
