This is National 4-H Week. The Logan Journal is reporting some of the accomplishments of Logan 4-Hers during a busy summer.

We are incredibly proud of our Logan County 4-Hers who competed in the Country Ham Contest at the Kentucky State Fair yesterday! Their hard work, dedication, and hours of preparation paid off—and the results speak for themselves!

Not only does the Country Ham Project teach valuable life skills like responsibility and food preservation, but it also builds confidence through public speaking. These 4-Hers are gaining skills that will serve them for life.

Congratulations to our winners:

Tanner Kash – 1st place (2009 Smoked Ham Speech division)

Tanner Kash – Overall 2nd Place (2009 Division)

Rickey Hall – 3rd Place (2011 Smoked Ham Speech division)

Anna Lee Robey – 1st Place (2012 Smoked Ham Speech Division)
