Russellville students earn honors in academics and sports

We have a College and Career Ready update: We have new students who have been declared college ready and added to our CCR wall.  Those students are Taelor Inscoe, Jovani Pacheco, Annie Lewis, Jackelin Astorga, Cameron Tisdale and Jada Morris.Two students have now been classified as both COLLEGE and CAREER Ready.  They are Coty Gossett and Sarah Brown

Congratulations to those students are achieving this honor and meeting this goal.  We continue to make this a goal for each of our students and are constantly implementing and reviewing strategies to ensure that our students have every opportunity to obtain this designation.

Congratulations to Coach Phil Todd, his staff and players on an important district victory over Franklin-Simpson Friday night!!

The middle school academic team was in action during the District Governor’s Cup event this past week.  Several students placed in different events and have earned the opportunity to advance on to the Regional Governor’s Cup events.  

The FPS Team placed 2nd overall.  Team members include Jayden Hammer, Matthew Williams, Chaun Cheaney and Matthew Wilkerson. The quick recall team placed 3rd overall and the entire team placed 3rd overall for the entire competition.  Individual achievements include:

Written Composition: Brandy West---2nd Place; Rian Saul—4th Place

Science: Matthew Wilkerson—1st Place

Social Studies: Benjamin Slack—1st Place

Art and Humanities: Brendan Farlee—4th Place; Kyran Williams—5th Place

Congratulations to all these students, RMS Academic Team Coach Tina Shoemake and the numerous parents and others who volunteer their time to work with this group.

The high school academic team will be in competition this week at Franklin-Simpson with Future Problem Solving and Written Composition Tuesday and Quick Recall and Written Assessments Saturday.

The RHS Archery Team hosted a tournament this past weekend with over 700 students participating and 19 different school represented.  The event was a huge success with Senior Brian Clinard placing 8th overall in the boys high school division.  Coach Jennifer Clark and Coach Pat Kemp wish to express many thanks to all the students and parents who were on hand to help with this large event. 

The RHS Swimming Panthers swam at The Best of the West meet this weekend hosted by Bowling Green High School. Kate Bouldin, Cole Celsor, Eduardo and Fernanda Rodriguez represented the team. Coach Toni Hall was very pleased with the team - everyone had impressive times.
