Blanket/Trade Day at Red River includes yard sale

Darlynn and her husband Richard live near the Red River Meeting House and devote much time and efforts to keeping the site an active memorial to the Great Revival and a part of tourism in Logan County.
The second annual Blanket/Trade Day will be held this weekend, April 9-11, at the Red River Meeting House in Schochoh. The event will include camping, reenactment, worship services, educational sessions and lots of yard sales.

The following is a description of what will happen:

This is a time line event focusing on portrayals of frontier militia, military units and civilians from 1750-1815. Portions will be filmed for another historic site’s use in their welcome center’s film.

*Set-up Day for campers is on Friday. There is a posibility some filming may take place.

*Blanket trading is open to all periods on Saturday. Non re-enactors are welcome to set up a yard sale blanket to lay their items on.

*Judge Frank Wakefield will present “How to Read Old Maps” at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.

*A period Scottish Presbyterian sacrament service will be on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Firewood and water are furnished. There is no camp fee. No pets are allowed. An adjacent camping area for modern tents and campers is available, but it is without water or electric hookup.
