Our middle and high school band programs had a very successful week at WKU this past week. The 7th and 8th grade band received a Proficient rating for their performance with the high school band earning a Distinguished score.  Congratulations to these students, along with our band director, Brian Brown, for the accomplishments of both these programs.

Mr. Brown and many of these students will now turn their attention to our annual musical production. This year the RHS Drama department will be performing Mary Poppins. Shows begin on May 9 and continue through the next weekend. Plan to come for an evening of entertainment while supporting these students!

The RHS Special Olympics team, the Russellville Rock Stars, was in action this past at Bowling Green High School. Led by teacher Paige Price, several of our students placed with results listed below:

Track Events: Dakota- 1st, Jenny- 2nd, Isaiah W- 1st, Isaiah B- 2nd, James- 4th, Sean- 3rd and Jacob- 5th

Our team will travel to the state events in June!! Congratulations to all of these hard working students and Mrs. Price and Shelly Shelton for all the work they put into providing this opportunity for our students.

Congratulations to these students and sponsor, Tanya Mullen, for a successful year with the senior Beta kids!

The 2015 RHS Prom will be held this coming Saturday at the Historic Train Depot in Bowling Green.  Transportation to and from the event will be required and provided by the school. Charter busses will begin leaving at approximately 6:30. Please be sure to be at school by 6:15 to ensure you arrive in time. We will be returning to the high school at approximately 11:00 on Saturday evening. Again, I want to make sure everyone understands that transportation must be provided. Students cannot drive themselves to Bowling Green for the event.

*Any parents wanting to help with decorations should contact Lauren Fynboe for more details.

Mark Thompson, our Josten’s Rep, will be at the school this week to deliver senior items.  Postcards were mailed to students showing outstanding balances. We still have outstanding senior fees that need to be paid as soon as possible so that we can continue planning for senior week activities. Please send $ 75 to cover the fees to Mrs. Fynboe.

Jennifer Rogers will be traveling with a group of RHS students this week to Washington DC.  These students will be competing in the National History Bowl as a result of a 1st place finish early in the year.  Team members include Brennan Hughes, Will Mullen, Phillip Wilkerson, Adam Williams and Brandon Johns. Good luck and safe travels to this group!
