On the final day of the 2010 session, the Kentucky House of Representatives adjourned in honor and memory of the late George Wilford Arnold, the
retired mayor of Adairville and chairman of the Logan/Todd Regional Water Commission. The resolution was introduced by Representative Martha Jane

A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of George W. Arnold.
WHEREAS, George W. Arnold was a native son of the Commonwealth, born in Logan County, Kentucky, on March 24, 1921, to the late George Dennis Arnold and
Lydia Green Arnold. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Addie Lou Arnold; a brother, James Milton Arnold; a sister, Mary Bratcher; and a
son-in-law, Danny Mayes. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Patty Mayes; a brother, Maurice Arnold and his wife, Mildred; and several nieces and
nephews; and
WHEREAS, George W. Arnold was a veteran who proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army Air Corps; and
WHEREAS, George W. Arnold was a lifelong citizen and highly admired businessman, politician, and community leader in Adairville, Kentucky. Earning the
respect, admiration, and affection of his constituents and peers, he served several terms as the mayor of Adairville, spanning almost 20 years. He was
the chairman and director of the Logan Todd Regional Water Commission during its formative years, contributing countless hours of dedicated service to
its development as one of the preeminent regional water systems in the United States. He was also a former manager of the Logan Telephone Cooperative,
former director and board member of the Auburn Banking Company, and an active member in many civic improvement organizations, including the Adairville
Volunteer Fire Department, Rizpah Shriners, and Auburn Masonic Lodge No. 374; and
WHEREAS, George W. Arnold served God through his longtime membership with Adairville Baptist Church, where he was a deacon; and
WHEREAS, George W. Arnold traversed these earthly bounds into his Lord's presence on January 30, 2010, and his steadfast leadership, dedication to his
community, and many acts of charity will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those in Adairville and Logan County for years to come;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
âSection 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and
friends of George W. Arnold during this time of his passing.
âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of George W. Arnold.
