On June 8, the Logan County FFA chapter sent 18 students to Lexington to participate in the Kentucky State FFA Convention. Students at convention participated in many different types of competitions that they placed in at the regional level, competitions including impromptu speeches, record keeping, and senior parliamentary procedure.
The students also attended different sessions with speakers involved in agriculture. These included workshops that helped further their leadership skills and interest in agriculture.
There were many competitions that our students competed in while at Convention. These competitions consisted of:

Out of these competitions, Wesley Estes placed 1st in his Extemporaneous speech and 1st in his Beef Production Proficiency, Shelby Blythe placed 3rd in her Agriculture Processing Entrepreneurship, Adam Wright placed 3rd in his Grain Production Entrepreneurship, Kelly Eicher placed 3rd in his Swine Production Placement, and Meleea Reno placed 4th in Creed speaking
