This week at RJSHS is Homecoming 2015 with the activities culminating in the crowning of our King and Queen on Friday night during the game with Todd County.  We have spirit days planned for each day, with students being recognized daily for their efforts with different prizes from our Pep Club and the athletic department.  We also have a pep rally scheduled for Friday afternoon near the end of 6thperiod.

Below you will find a listing of the themes for each spirit day:

Monday—“Merica Monday”—show your patriotism!

Tuesday—“Frat/Derby Day”—wear your favorite “preppy outfit or Derby Hat”

Wednesday—“Superhero Day”

Thursday—“Squad Day”—plan a group theme with your friends

Friday—“Black and Gold Day”—Go crazy day!

Congratulations to the following students on being chosen by their peers to be a part of our 2015 Football Homecoming Court:

Seniors: Victoria Bilyeu, Tristen Gentry, Johnea Pendleton, Mason Aguirre, Josh Bigbee & Jason Mitchell

Juniors: Tara Gilbert, Maleigha Stovall, Paul Jones & Chris Matthews

Sophomores: Shailyn Milan, Kristin Vanzant, Dillon Porter & Devin Quarles

Freshmen: Taryn Gray, Elly Myers, Ty Collins & Jacob Naylor

RHS Volleyball

Our high school volleyball program, under the direction of Debbie Elliot and Jennifer Dyson, have made a great deal of progress with their team this year. They have three home events scheduled for this week, with two of those being important district match-ups!  The RHS Athletic department will be hosting pizza nights on Monday  and Tuesday during these two district matches.

The first 25 students to come to the games will receive a free slice of pizza! Come out and join our cheerleaders as we provide a spirited atmosphere for our Lady Panther volleyball team during these events!

RHS Band News

The RHS Marching Panther began their season at Franklin-Simpson this past weekend.  We will be hosting our annual show of bands this Saturday at RHEA Stadium with several area bands scheduled to perform that afternoon.  Our Marching Panthers will do an exhibition performance before the award ceremony that evening.  Come out for a great day of performances and support our marching band at the same time!
