The RHS Football teamed secured a district championship title Friday night with a win against district rival Crittenden Co.  This will line up playoff games all at home for the month of November.  The first playoff game will be held Nov. 6 at Rhea Stadium! Congratulations to Coach John Myers, his staff and our team!

The RHS Marching Panther Band also had a very exciting and productive weekend at they came in sixth place overall at the regional competition held in Hopkinsville yesterday.  Their performance also earned them a spot in the state semifinals next weekend, which will be held for the first time at our own Historic Rhea Stadium.

The top 16 Class 1A bands from across the state will compete on Oct. 31 in Russellville with our own band earning one of those 16 spots!  These students have overcome many obstacles this season to pull together when it truly mattered and we wish them the best of luck in the state semifinals!  I couldn’t be more proud of their dedication to our program, and I encourage everyone to come out and support them on Saturday as they represent us in the semifinals! Congratulations to Mr. Brian Brown, his staff and, of course, our awesome band students!

Our RHS Cheerleaders will also be competing in the 4th Region KHSAA competition next Saturday. They will compete at Bowling Green High School in the afternoon. After you come out to support our band, make your way to BGHS to support our Panther cheerleaders! Best of luck to Coach Heather Rickman, Coach Kia Santiago and our cheerleaders!!

The RHS Academic Team will be traveling for another important meet to Grayson County.  This match will be held tomorrow at Grayson County High School, and our team will be leaving immediately after school. Good luck to Coach Jennifer Rogers and our academic team students!

We will host a parent-teacher conference evening next Thursday, Nov. 5 from 4:30-7:30. Teachers will have sign-up sheets outside their doors for 15-minute increments of time. Slots will be available to you on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are unable to join this evening and want to meet with specific teachers, please call the guidance office to schedule a conference at your convenience.

This upcoming week is national Red Ribbon Week and the staff of RJSHS is asking for students to join in and participate as we pledge to be drug-free and raise awareness of the dangers of drug addictions. There will be a different theme for each day (listed below).  Thanks to Mrs. Debbie Browder for helping to organize this event for us.
