An event designed to recruit adjunct faculty to teach for Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College will be held this Thursday from 5-6:30 p.m. in the round room at the college’s KATI campus.
Adjunct faculty teach one or more college courses on a part-time basis.
KATI, which stands for Kentucky Advanced Technology Institute, is one of six SKYCTC campuses. The entrance is the same as for Walmart off Morgantown Road in Bowling Green.
Other locations are the Main Campus on Loop Street near Warren Central High School off the Morgantown Road, the Transpark on Louisville Road near Warren East High School, two in Glasgow, and one in Franklin in the Industrial Park at Exit 6 off I-65.
“We specifically need adjunct in the following areas: English, Spanish, Art, Psychology, History, Sociology, Economics, Anatomy and Physiology, Geology and Marketing & Management,” says Dr. Tonya Daniels, who is dean of Arts & Humanities.
“We are looking for both face-to-face and online instructors in these areas.”
Most of these adjunct positions require the instructor to have at least a Master’s degree with 18 hours in the discipline to be taught. The only ones which do not need that extra level of education are Marketing & Management, which require a Bachelor’s degree.
Those attending will meet Dean Daniels as well as Dean Kevin Kenady of Math & Science, a former teacher at Russellville High School. Some current adjuncts are also expected to attend.
Applicants are asked to bring their resumes and unofficial transcripts.
