Russellville teachers Jennifer Clark, Kaylee Crowder, and Jessie Baker have been being selected as the recipients for the Campbellsville University 2016 Excellence in Teaching Awards Program. 

Jennifer Clark teaches kindergarten at Stevenson Elementary. She graduated from Logan County High School, received her B.S. from Western Kentucky University, and her M.A. from Austin Peay State University. She has been in the Russellville Independent School District since 2002. She has three children, Dalton, Blake and Connor.

Kaylee Crowder teaches 6^th grade math at Russellville Middle School. She graduated from Butler County High School, received her B.S. from Western Kentucky University, and her MAT from the University of the Cumberlands. She has been in the Russellville Independent School District since 2012. She is married to Tyler Crowder.

Jessie Baker teaches 11^th grade U.S. History, AP U.S. History, and 9^th grade Global Studies at Russellville Junior/Senior High School. She graduated from Hancock County High School, received her B.A. from Western Kentucky University, and her M.A. from Morehead State University. She has been in the Russellville Independent School District since 2011.

The purpose of this award is to recognize the quality teaching in the schools of the state of Kentucky and to strengthen the field of education. It provides statewide recognition to three outstanding individuals from the Russellville Independent School District for their leadership and dedication to the teaching profession. Implicit in the award is the expectation that the recipients’ examples may inspire all teachers to excel.

On Saturday, May 21, at a luncheon at Campbellsville University, they will have the opportunity to be recognized and be presented their awards with Kentucky Department of Education Commissioner Stephen Pruitt in attendance.
