Spring is in the air! With temperatures rising and the sun shining, the Logan County FFA chapter is busy preparing the greenhouse for its spring customers. FFA members have been working diligently since the beginning of the school year planting seeds, plugging plants, mixing soil, and watering flats. As the plants bloom, the time is rapidly approaching for the greenhouse to open up to the public and for plant sales to begin. Customers will not be disappointed for a variety of high quality plants are available.

This year, customers have a wide selection of plants to choose from. The 2016 FFA Greenhouse Plant List includes:

Annuals:

Sun:Gerbera Daisy, Geranium, Pansy, Petunia, Spikes, Wave Petunias

Full Sun:Begonias, Coleus, Marigolds, Periwinkle, Salvia, Snapdragon, Vinca, Celosia

Perennials:

Vegetables:

Pots:

Shade:Boston Fern, Impatiens

Hanging Baskets:

The greenhouse opens Saturday, April 9, and plant sales will continue through Mother’s Day Weekend. Monday-Friday, the greenhouse will be open from 8-3:30. On Saturdays, the greenhouse will be open from 9-1, and all sales will benefit FFA Alumni Scholarships.

The Logan County FFA would like to thank all its members for the hard work put into the greenhouse this year. Without the help of members, running the greenhouse would not be possible. Logan County FFA would also like to thank all its customers and supporters. The business and support given us by each of you keeps the FFA thriving and provides opportunities for FFA members that would not otherwise be available.

We look forward to seeing you all down at the greenhouse soon!
