On Saturday, April 9, from 4-8 p.m. many Logan Countians are joining forces with Clay Bilyeu to bring our community together and show support for Amanda Harper and her family.

Amanda was a victim of the shooting that took place on March 15 in Logan Count. It was a day that shook the community and changed it forever. Although she is going to recover she has a long road ahead of her. She is a daughter, a friend, and a mother to two beautiful children.

Several things will be done on Russellville’s Park Square Saturday to help raise money for her family. The activities include but are not limited to; a cake walk, silent auction, singing, food sales, games and raffles.

Bluegrass Check Advance, Twisted Vapors, Studio T and Riley White are among businesses that have been active in fund raising. Countless other businesses and individuals have made donations.

Among the leaders have been Tammy Smith Grayson, Amy McGee, Alicision Bell, Sandra Inman, Danielle Marie, Shannon Knight, Addie Coleman and Leslie Oberhausen.

Tee shirts promoting domestic violence awareness and proclaiming #amandastrong have been sold by preorder and some may be available on the Square. Also wristbands with #amandastrong logos are also being sold. They are $2 each or three for $5.

A silent auction will be held from 4-6:15 p.m. Winners must be present to take the item. A live auction will start immediately afterwards.

Chaney's Dairy Barn is bringing its ice cream truck to the Cruise-In!! Carl and Debra Chaney will be donating a portion of their proceeds back to the event!!

Many other vendors will be set up, but organizers warn that not all of them will be donating their profits to the cause, Oberhausen says, “All vendors who are 100 percent donating to Amanda will be clearly marked with a purple bow.

This is part of the Cruise-Ins which Clay and Debbie Bilyeu hold in downtown Russellville throughout the warm months.

Donations are also being accepted for Vanna Krang, who suffered a gunshot wound as an innocent victim in his donut shop across the street.
