Congratulations to seniors Milam Watkins and Johnny Drumgole, as we have heard that they have been selected to play in the KY All Star Game next weekend! We wish Milam and Johnny the best and know that they will represent their school very well

Coach John Myers was selected as the coach of the year for the District 1 Class 1A Football 2016 Season—congratulations, Coach Myers!

We also have several of our Panther Football team members who were recently recognized and honored by being selected for the ALL Sky Conference, Small School Division. Those students are as follows:

2nd Team Defense—Teon Morris and Javaren Robey
2nd Team Offense—Dru West
1st Team Offense—MJ Jones and Chris Matthews
1st Team Defense—Jaylyn McMurry, Johnny Drumgole, TK Hampton, Caleb Hardison and Milam Watkins

ACADEMIC TEAM

Sixth Grade members of the RMS Academic Team competed last week in the 6th Grade Challenge. Coach Tina Shoemake reported the following results:

Graciann Beard-2nd place – written composition

Bailey Harper – 6th place – written composition

Rachel Logan-6th place -science

Alissia Davis-6th place in both arts and humanities and language arts

Congratulations to our 6th grade team and Mrs. Shoemake!

RHS BOOK CLUB
Our high school library and book club are sponsoring a book drive for Christmas. Our goal is to collect via donations at least 600 books (used or new) so that each student in grades 6-12 goes home with a book for Christmas. Would you please consider participating in this book drive? If so, box up as many books as you are willing to donate and drop off at in the library. The book drive ends Monday, December 12. Books will be distributed to students on Thursday and Friday, December 15-16.

BASKETBALL

We will have our 1st high school Panther/Lady Panther doubleheader this Friday night with a district matchup with Todd County. Please remember that admission for district games is $6. Coach Calvin Head has provided the information below for anyone still interested in game passes:

1. Pep Club Student Passes are still available for purchase. These passes are $20 and admit any Russellville student to any RMS and/or RHS athletic event for regular season play. Passes are not valid for tournaments and can be purchased in the RMS front office. 
2. Adult All Sport Passes for $75 and Family Passes are $150.

Admission prices for basketball season:
Middle School Games---$4
High School Games---$5
District Doubleheader Games---$6 (district policy)

The RHS Lady Panther Basketball Team will be hosting a Pork Chop Supper this Friday, Dec. 9, in the RHS Cafeteria from 5:00-7:00. Tickets are $6 and the meal includes pork chop, baked beans, cole slaw, and a drink. The supper is sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America and Managing Partner Sonya Cardwell. Tickets can be purchased from any Lady Panther Basketball player or coach. Please come out and support this fundraising effort and after the meal you can join the excitement in the gym as both the Panthers and Lady Panthers will host Todd County Central for the first district game of the year!
