Logan FFA names 2017-18 officers

During the week of Feb. 20, the Logan County FFA chapter participated in National FFA week.

On Tuesday, members participated in a cornhole tournament and chili cookoff.  Winners for the cornhole tournament were Andrew Milam and Dalton Nash. Zach Milam won the chili cookoff for best tasting chili while Luke Davenport won for the spiciest. The Ping Pong champion was Tanner Baldwin.

Wednesday was America Day. Members wore a sea of red, white and blue that represented patriotism for their country.  

Thursday featured officer elections, with candidates being interviewed by retiring officers. After much careful consideration, these candidates were elected for their leadership and hard work.  The new 2017-2018 officers are as follows:

Senior Officers: President - Jessalyn Robey, Vice President - Meleea Reno, Secretary - Zach Milam, Treasurer - Rachel Taylor, Reporter - Hannah Price, Sentinel - Caroline Baker, Chaplin - Evan Hughes, Parliamentarian - Kennedy Campbell, 2nd VP - Kaitlyn Norris, and 3rd VP - Jacob Haley

Junior Officers: Jr Vice President - John Hendricks,Jr Secretary - Cody Watkins,Jr Treasurer - Bailey Cornelius,Jr Reporter - Harrison Wilson,Jr Sentinel - Kate Malott,Jr Chaplin - Ellie Delaney, Jr Parliamentarian - Briar Webb, Jr 2nd VP - Olivia Bouldin, Jr 3rd VP - Presley Harris

Committee Chairman: SAE - Micah Page and Ethan Hudson, Leadership - Ethan Robey and Hayden Blick, Scholarship - Caroline Davenport and Onakha Fuller, Recreation - Jailyn Campbell and Noah Rust, Cooperation - Briley Robinson, Alumni- Briley Shemwell, Public Relations - Mason Haley, Community Service - Kolton Coomer and Jordan Baer, Greenhouse - Ashlyn Tracy, Conduct of Meetings - Haley Hallman; and Earnings and Savings - Abby Canler

On Friday, a breakfast was held for all members in the Ag Shop. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the end of National FFA week.
