On Jan. 26, Logan County FFA held its annual local speech contest. There are 3 types of speeches, impromptu, extemporaneous and prepared public.
Impromptu speeches are speeches in an agriculture category such as beef, ag mechanics, and greenhouse. Speeches should last 4-6 minutes.
Extemporaneous speeches are over current issues in agriculture. There are also questions the participant has to answer at the end of their speech.
Finally Prepared Public is a speech that is based on a participant’s choice of a certain agriculture topic that must be memorized.
The judges for the contest this year were former president Wesley Estes and student teacher Emilee Graves.
