Every year on the week of George Washington’s birthday FFA members across the country celebrate National FFA Week. They celebrate over 90 years of the FFA organization and the future to come. Starting in 1947, FFA chapters have held activities to educate their community about agriculture and celebrate agriculture education.

This year the Logan County FFA chapter held a variety of activities starting Feb. 20. Tuesday they held Bring Your Tractor to School Day as well as competitions in the afternoon. Ethan Robey, Harrison Wilson, Jackson Reader, Cooper Covington, and Alex Walpole all drove tractors to school Tuesday morning.

The winners of the Chili Cook-off were Zach Milam, Micah Paige, Meelea Reno, and Jessalyn Robey. There were also corn hole and ping pong tournaments that night. Evan Hughes was the ping pong champion, and Kate Malott and Hannah Goss were the winning team for corn hole. Wednesday the officer team held a chapter meeting and served pork chop sandwiches to the teachers.

Thursday saw officer elections, and next year’s officers are as follows:

Senior Officers: President- Zach Milam, Vice President- Rachel Taylor, Secreatary- Hannah Price, Treasurer- Caroline Davenport, Reporter- Ashlyn Tracy, Sentinel- Hayley Hallman, Chaplain- John Hendricks, Parliamentarian- Micah Paige, 2^nd Vice President- Ethan Robey, and 3^rd Vice President- Briley Robinson

Junior Officers: Vice President- Kolton Coomer, Secretary- Jailyn Campbell, Treasurer- Jordan Baer, Reporter- Mallory Whitson, Sentinel- Madeline Reno, Chaplain- Lindsey Brinkley, Parliamentarian- Crandal Barrow, 2^nd Vice President- Macon Barrow, and 3^rd Vice President- Brooke Johnson.

Committee Chairs: SAE- Hayden Blick with Brandon Pugh, Leadership- Korbin Deberry with Carter Spivey, Scholarship- Gracie Wharton with Alex Walpole, Recreation- Moran Gafford, Cooperation- Preston Hurt, Alumni- Luke Brown, Public Relations- John-Dawson Celsor, Community Service- Caitlyn Mosely, Greenhouse- Jamasyn Belcher, Conduct of Meeting- Phillip Lowe, and Earning and Saving- Sydney Claypool.

To end FFA Week, members wore FFA apparel and came early to enjoy breakfast. The last competition was Muddy Truck Day and Rachel Sears had the muddiest truck this year.

Most of the activities are long traditions of the Logan County FFA and they keep members excited about agriculture and FFA as they competitions soon.
