Auburn Autumn Days are a thing of the past, a long-gone memory, In their place for the third straight year are the Dog Days of Summer, which are going on this weekend, Friday and Saturday.

Assistant City Clerk Sarah Moore said on WRUS' Feedback was made because there were so many conflicts during the September weekend when Autumn Days were traditionally held. "We didn't think there would be many conflicts during the hottest time of the year," she said.

The term dog days, according to National Geographic, comes from "summer days so devastatingly hot that even dogs would lie around on the asphalt, panting."

This weekend's forecast calls for cooler and maybe wetter weather than Logan County has been experiencing, which should not deter enthusiasm for the event.
