Crandal Barrow, Rachel Taylor & Jenna Robertson win Farm Bureau youth competitions

On Sept. 8, six Logan County High School FFA students prepared for the Outstanding Youth Contest held at the University of Kentucky’s Logan County Extension Office. The competition took place during the annual county Farm Bureau meeting.

Students competed in an interview processes and public speaking. Each received a seven-minute interview and a two-minute speech to present over agriculture and Farm Bureau.

The male contestants were Macon Barrow, Crandal Barrow, and Noah Rust. The female contestants were Lindsey Brinkley, Ashlyn Tracy, Rachel Taylor, and Jenna Robertson from Franklin-Simpson.

 The final results were Crandal Barrow placing first, Noah Rust placing second, and Macon Barrow placing third in the male category. Rachel Taylor placed first, Jenna Robertson placed second, Ashlyn Tracy placed third, and Lindsey Brinkley placed fourth in the female category.

Each participant received a check from the Russellville Farm Bureau and the first place winners will go on to compete at the region.

Along with the Outstanding Youth Contest, members presented their talent in the talent show. Students Madeline Reno and Lindsey Brinkley preformed “What a Beautiful Name” by Hillsong Worship, Harley Robertson preformed “You Say” by Lauren Daigle, and Jenna Robertson preformed “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by Elvis Presley.

Jenna placed first and will also go onto the region, Harley Robertson placed second, and Lindsey and Madeline placed third.

The Logan County FFA chapter would like to congratulate the members who put in their hard work for the contest. The FFA would also like to thank those who helped serve the supper brought by the FFA.
