The Logan County Lady Cougars beat Franklin-Simpson by a single goal for the second time this year Monday, but this 2-1 victory came in the 13th District Tournament.

Hannah Goss and Brianna Loden each scored an unassisted goal in the win.

Carli Alvis held the Lady Cats to the one goal as the goalkeeper. Lady Cat coach Dennis Anderson doesn’t report statistics to the KHSAA website.

The Lady Cougars are to play top-seed Todd Central in the championship game Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Rhea Stadium. The Lady Rebels automatically qualified for the finals and region, since Russellville doesn’t field a girls soccer team.

Also playing in the F-S district game were Braiden Baptiste, Sara Bills, Haley Bilyeu, Alexis Chick, Virginia Edwards, Monica Hines, McKenzie Kempf, Abi Lindsey, Madison Long, Tori Parrish and Alina Schmeiss.

In the first win over F-S by Coach Barry McReynolds’ team on Sept. 7, Logan won 3-2. Goss, Hines and Lindsey scored the goals. In that game, Kate Brooks, Keira Costello, Anjali Evans and Kristen Hendricks also saw action.

On Sept. 26, McReynolds’ Lady Cougars won 4-0. Goss and Lindsey each scored two goals. Autumn Taylor saw action in this shutout.

Todd Central has a 9-5 record. Coach Katie Covington’s team edged Logan 2-1 twice. The Lady Rebels won over F-S 1-0 and 3-0 in the regular season.
