When a team goes undefeated during the regular season and wins 11 games, season statistics are bound to be impressive. Such is the case for the 2017 Logan County Cougars.

It’s true that Coach Todd Adler’s team won some close games. They had to dominate the fourth quarter to beat Russellville. Quarterback Tyler Ezell ran for a touchdown on the last play of the game to beat Hopkinsville, and kicker Lucas Arevalo answered the call to boot the winning field goal with 10 seconds remaining against Madisonville-North Hopkins.

But some wins were romps.

As a result, the Cougars outscored their 12 opponents 395-188 (33-16 average), out-gained them 2,474 yards to 666 (206-56), piled up 1,662 to 985 (139-82), and racked up 4,136 yards total offense to 1,551 (345-138).
