A joint college signing day is scheduled at Russellville High School Friday. Uniquely, it is for two different colleges and two different sports at schools a great distance apart.

Luis Pacheco will play soccer for Union College in Barbourville on the eastern edge of southern Kentucky while Shailyn Milan will cheer for Brescia University in Owensboro on the western edge of southern Kentucky.

The following press releases were sent out by RHS Athletic Director Kyle Yates.

Russellville High School is proud to announce that Friday, Feb. 9, at 2:30 p.m. in the RHS Library, Luis Pacheco will be signing his letter of intent to play Soccer at Union College.

Luis’ commitment comes from a work ethic that is unrelenting. Playing soccer at the next level is something that has been a dream and goal for Luis. Luis has been an RHS Panther Soccer player for six years. During this time Luis has managed to keep a 3.6 GPA.

Luis has made the most of his time as Panther the past two years he has been named to the All District Team. While playing for RHS Luis has been one of the scoring leaders all four years.

Please join us as we celebrate Luis’ accomplishments and the beginning of his next step, academically and athletically.
