The Logan County High School girls and boys basketball teams held their end-of-the-season banquet on Sunday, March 25, to recognize the players and their accomplishments for the 2017-18 season.
For the Lady Cougars, the following were award winners by each level:
Girls Basketball Varsity Award Winners: Offensive Award/Most Rebounds —Kennedy Nichols; Coach’s Award/Team Leader Award— Blayke Bingham; Senior Award— Meredith Johnson; Most Improved Award —Halie Borders; Best Free Throw Percentage —Addie White; Defensive Award/Most Assists —Paige Vanzant; Best 3-Point FG Percentage/Team Leader/Defensive Award —Sarah Beth Hale and 6th Woman/3D Award —Peyton Vanzant.
JV Award Winners: Coach’s Award—Addie White; Defensive Award—Kaylin “KJ” Page; Most Rebounds—Halie Borders and Offensive Award—Peyton Vanzant.
Freshmen Award Winners: 110% Award—Kaylin “KJ” Page; Coach’s Award—Abby Hinton; and Most Improved Player—Keira Costello.
Coach Finley Baird’s team finished as the number one seed in the district during the regujlar season, district tournament champion and regional semifinalist, losing to eventual regional champion Bowling Green. The varsity’s record was 22-11.
