A team called TN Vision but comprised primarily of Kentucky 13th District players is playing weekend basketball tournaments over a widespread area.

Vision got off to the best possible start this weekend, winning the 17U championship of the Chip in Atlanta with a perfect 4-0 record.

Jerry Epley of Logan County is the coach. Cougars on the team are Kelby Epley, Mykal Hampton, Reggie Powell and Dylan Basham. Representing Russellville are Elijah Kemp and Devon Quarles. From Todd Central are Clayte Weathers and John Calvary. Franklin’s contribution to the team is Jay Harris.

The only two players who are not from these four schools are also not from Kentucky. James Harmon is from Clarksville High and Leo McCray from Clarksville Northeast.

Tennessee Vision plays on the And 1 DTG Circuit.

Kemp scored 20 points and was MVP of the championship game, a 56-54 win over Texas Jazz Elite.

Vision won its season opener 85-73 in an Atlanta tournament Saturday. In that game, Epley scored 18 while Hampton, Calvary, McCray and Kemp joined him in double figures. Calvary had 17, McCray 14, Hampton 12 and Kemp 11.

Scoring in the other games is not yet available.

TN Vision will play in a tournament in Indianapolis next weekend.

Coach Epley has announced that his son Kelby is being recruited by Yale University of the Ivy League and by Dominican University-Illinois. Kelby, who scored 37 points in a loss at Louisville Seneca High School earlier this month in a different circuit, plans a visit to Yale.

The coach also says that Hampton, who will graduate from LCHS next month, has been approached by two Kentucky colleges about playing for them—Midway and Union
