Logan's Ethan Meguiar named to state coaching Hall of Fame

Highly successful Logan County Baseball Coach Ethan Meguiar will be inducted into the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association KHSBCA Hall of Fame. Coach Meguiar been chosen on his merits in coaching, involvement in the association, and for his dedication to the sport of baseball in Kentucky.

This year’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be this Saturday, Jan. 19, at noon at the Louisville East Holiday Inn Hurstbourne, located at the intersection of I-64 and Hurstbourne Pkwy. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $15. 

LCHS Athletic Director Greg Howard says, “Congratulations to our beloved coach! One heck of a day to be a proud Cougar!”

These are some of Meguiar’s accomplishments:

22 seasons Head Coach, all at Logan County High School

Win Loss Record 442-265, currently 13th among active coaches in Kentucky

10 District Championships and 9 District Runner-Ups

14 Consecutive 4th Region Appearances, and 19 of 22 years total

2 Regional Runner-Ups (2000, 2017)

1 Regional Championship (2013)

14 twenty-win seasons, and the last 8 years in a row

Served on the KHSBCA Field Grant Committee for last 7 years

2013 4th Region Coach of the year

2007 Assistant Coach West All-Stars

Had 46 players sign to play college baseball at various levels over the 22 years.

In his acceptance remarks Saturday, Meguiar, who has lived all of his life in the Auburn area except when he was playing baseball for Campbellsville University, plans to thank, among others, his parents, Jimmy and Rosella Meguiar; his wife and children, Nicole, Braxton and Sage Meguiar; Principal Bob Nylin and athletic directors Hugh McReynolds and Greg Howard; coaches David Billingsley, Beauford Sanders, Greg Shelton, Lou Kendall, Sam Royce, Kyle Wall; and his players.
