From Coach Jeff Noffsinger:

The Logan County girls varsity tennis team had a tough outing on Tuesday night at Bowling Green.

Logan’s Katie Noffsinger had to retire at the end of the first set due to injury. Lauren Barnes played through injured ankle, but she and partner Kara Noffsinger fell 3-6, 4-6 to Yunni Qu and Alex Smith, the team Barnes & Noffsinger defeated in the first round of last year’s Regional Tournament.

Logan’s Camden Williams put up a strong showing before falling 3-6, 2-6 to BG’s Campbell Richey.

The lone win for the Lady Cougars varsity team was brought home by Bella Bond and Hannah Goss winning their match over Wang and Simpson 6-4, 6-3.

On the JV side the match of the night was played by Logan’s Kendall Williams and Landrie Hughes. The middle school pair fell 9-8 in a pro set marathon match that went to a tiebreaker, Hughes and Williams trailed midway through the set 3-6 but rallied to force the tiebreaker at 8 all. After Hughes and Williams led briefly in the tiebreaker BG’s Collette Strowe and Addie Herman pulled ahead and took the tie breaker 7-4.

Logan County’s boys varsity and girls varsity are back in action this Thursday night at Fort Campbell. Then on Saturday both the boys and girls teams travel north to play Apollo and Owensboro in a doubleheader.
